2011 Scholarship Program

PURPOSE:  To provide scholarship funds to students pursuing a career in the home building industry and related trades.

WHO QUALIFIES:  Any student pursuing a career in the home building industry and related trades including immediate family members of the HBA of Iowa (builder or associate members). The fund is dedicated but not limited to college age students between the ages of
18 – 25 years.

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:  The scholarship award shall be up to $1000.00 per selected applicant. Multiple applicants are chosen each year to receive scholarships. Funds will be paid directly to the educational institution and shall ONLY be used for tuition and / or books.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS COMMITTEE:  Shall consist of a Board of Directors of the HBA of Iowa Educational Corporation and the HBA of Iowa Executive Officer shall serve as a non-voting member. The decision of the HBA IA EC Scholarship Awards committee shall be final.

HOW TO APPLY:  Applicants must submit the official application form and written essays to the HBA IA Educational Corporation scholarship awards committee by email:  hbaiaec@hbaiowa.org.  Applications will be received by the HBA IA EC Scholarship Committee until February 15 of each year.  Scholarship awards may be presented by the President of the HBA IA at a local HBA general membership meeting or school awards ceremony by May 31 of each year.  Scholarships are a one time award and students are eligible to apply and receive funding in successive years.  For more information, contact:
